He did not feel the pleasure of worship except when he abandoned three things!

Ahmad bin Harb said: I worshipped Allah for fifty years and I could not enjoy the pleasure of worship except when I abandoned three things: I abandoned the satisfaction of people so that I can talk justly, I abandoned the company of the immoral to find the company of the righteous, and I abandoned the sweetness of worldly life to find the sweetness of the Hereafter.

It was said that He prayed to Allah to send down the rain in Bukhara, and the rain was falling before he ends praying and people got wet. May Allah have mercy on Him!
